Good Bye Vagabond, Hello Farmer - Again

 Well, that was fun.

We hit the road like a couple of retirees on a mission — which, technically, we were. Our snowbirding adventures took us all over the southern states (except Florida… because, you know, humidity). We made memories, took naps in beautiful places, and became very well-acquainted with every RV dump station this side of the Mississippi, and quite a few on the other side of it as well. Our snowbirding adventures gave us sun, scenery, stories we'll be telling (and retelling) for years, and we made some lifelong friends along the way.

The past few years the camper has been more of a backyard ornament than a getaway vehicle, so we finally admitted what we’d known in our hearts: our traveling hat had started collecting dust, and it was time to swap it for our trusty homebody hat — the one with hay in the brim and chicken poop suspiciously near the back.

So we sold the camper. Yep, just like that. Gone. Off to become someone else’s ticket to freedom and propane-scented glory.

And us? We’re back on the farm. For real. We’ve got about a dozen chickens, a few sheep, a huge, hairy livestock guardian dog named Gus, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting (and blog-worthy). It’s official — we’ve rejoined the world of fence mending, egg collecting, and trying to outsmart animals with brains the size of a walnut.

Which brings us to this: the travel blog is sailing into the sunset. It’s had a good run. But don’t panic — the stories aren’t stopping. They’re just moving to a new zip code: americanwayfarm.blogspot.com.

There you’ll find the same questionable decision-making and unexpected mishaps, only now with more wool and feathers, and dog hair, lots and lots of dog hair. We'll still be sharing the adventures - some funny, some not-so-funny, all very much life on the farm.

Thanks for riding along with us down the snowbird highway. Now grab your muck boots and meet us on the farm blog — where the grass is greener, the eggs are fresher, the stories are weirder, and something is always breaking.

See you at the farm!
